  4. My favorite part of Christmas is watching small children as they make their Santa lists, wait in line to sit on Santa's lap and the excitement on Christmas Eve in anticipation of the arrival of Santa. Most of all, their ability to BELIEVE! It's such a magical time of year and I cherish all of my childhood Christmas memories.

  5. What a neat RAK! I think one of my favorite memories just happened on Friday night...my (almost) 2 year old grandson was introduced to Christmas at "Grammy's house" and we sat amazed in front of the Christmas tree as I explained and gazed his beautiful eyes with the many ornaments that Grammy has...it was such a heartfelt moment!!

  8. I love Christmas for all the celebrating giving and caring. People are so much nicer to each other this time of year, if only it could last longer. My favorite part is that all my family, both mine and in-laws gather at my house on Christmas day and I get to do what I love, ENTERTAIN! I just love having get togethers, cooking and decorating.

  9. My wonderful christmas memories is actually a chain of memories. I'm a 4th generation christmas lover! My great grandma would shop all year long...you might get a washcloth and kitchen spoon together...just because she thought it was pretty and you would like it.
My grandmother loved christmas all her life. I still get tears in my eyes when I think of when she was in her 70's and lived across the street from me. I would decorate the outside of my house from top to bottom and she was like a child sitting in her window watching...eyes almost glowing!
My mom is the same way...I don't think you can walk into any room of her house without some type of music going on from one of her MANY figures and stuffed animals.
Me...for years I had the privilege of driving Santa from house to house for a pre christmas home visit. Many times I was able to pop into the house first...the look on the little ones faces...I'll remember for always!

  10. My favorite thing to do each year is work at the Operation Christmas Child center at our church, packaging shoeboxes filled with items to ship off to children who get these gifts from different countries. This time of year is for giving, and I love giving to those that have little or nothing at all. It always brings a joy to my face/heart when I know that they will smile from ear to ear knowing that even the littlest gift that may be in that box is like a BRICK OF GOLD! They cherish it, and that my friends is something that nobody can replace!

  12. Of course we all need to remember what Christmas really is all about!!! We would not be here if it weren't for Jesus and the ultimate sacrifice HE made for US!!!

Christmas really changed for me once I had kids...I love seeing it through their eyes.

thanks for this fun give-a-way and Merry Christmas,

  13. Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year. I love remembering that Jesus Is the Reason for the Season, without Jesus there would be no Christmas, or salvation. I love the time with family and friends. The food, decorations and songs are an added plus to enjoy with family and friends to make things more joyous. When my children were still at home we loved to go Christmas Caroling as a family to friends, and shut ins and take them a plate of goodies. We would look forward to doing this every year.

  14. There are so many, many memories that make Christmas wonderful. The glow of tiny, twinkling lights, the smell of Christmas cookies baking in the oven, the sounds of bells on the back door, snow softly falling and remembering the real reason for this beautiful season. I've worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 37 years...and over 18 of those Christmas days have been spent 12 hours at a time, with families that become my own for the day. My childrens favorite memories of Christmas include lunches at the hospital with mom...and still request hospital cherry pie for a special treat! Though it would be easy to complain about what I've missed...I've received so much more in the 18 years of holidays I've worked....it makes remembering the reasons for Christmas so much easier...to live it, guiding new life into the world...one Christmas baby at a time! Thanks for a great idea...it's my first time to ever post at a RAK...and I"d love the idea of carrying it on.

  15. for me the wonderment of christmas and the reason i never stopped believing in santa, was the magic my parents created. i am from a family of 12 and while lunch may have bee cornstarch and dinner might be rice with jam mixed in it, christmas dinner included all the trimmings. i can smell the turkey roasting and hear the sounds of my siblings fighting and laughing, the memories will stay with me forever and i am blessed to have those memories!

  16. I love Christmas!!! When I was growing up, we never had much. My family were evangelists and churches didn't have revivials in November and December which meant my dad was not getting paid. Despite that, I never have a bad Christmas memory. One of my favorite memories is up until I was 10 we lived in a place where we could go cut down a Christmas tree. We would all go out (except my mom) and search for the tree. I would look so small out on the hill where we would find it...until we tried to get it into our living room! When we got home, we would deocorate it and my mom would make egg nog. Then on Christmas eve, we would open our presents. But we never opened presents until my dad would read the Christmas story and we would sing carols. We still do that at my parents now. Only this time it's with four children, spouses, and 10 grandchildren! We always knew what Christmas was truly about.

  18. In Novembe 2005, my youngest son was born 2 months premature. He wasn't supposed to come home from the hospital until he reached full term in mid-January. When he was still in the NICU, my mom asked me what I wanted to Christmas. I told her that I wanted him to come home and she said she would "put in the order with the big guy". He ended up coming home a month early, on December 14. So my miracle baby had his first Christmas at home with his family. Of all my Chtistmas memories growing up and now with my own family, that one will always win.
